No More VIP Parking Stickers - Kidero Orders
Dr. Evans Odhiambo Kidero
Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero has ordered for the withdrawal of all VIP parking stickers issued to sittingWard Representatives and Former Nairobi City Councillors in an effort to boost revenue collection.
The VIP stickers enable those issued with to park their vehicles within the City free of charge for a whole year. There are more than 500 cars issued with such VIP stickers. However, Kidero said most of the stickers are fake. He directed those with genuine stickers to return them to the In-charge of parking, Mr. Tom Tinega, for replacement and verification.
Kidero took action after Mr.Tinega had informed him that matatus and lorries were seen sporting the stickers.
Some city MPs have criticised the reinstatement of Mr. Tinega who was interdicted last year by former town clerk Roba Duba (now MoyaleMP).
