Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for the developing and implementing appropriate Human Resource [HR] strategies that will ensure that the Commission attracts and retains a professional team of motivated employees.
Key Responsibilities
Advising the Commission on all matters pertaining to Human Resource.
Issuing administrative guidelines on interpretation and implementation of labour laws and other human resource related statutes.
Aligning the HR strategies to the overall strategy of the Commission.
Ensuring the Commission develops polices for attracting, retaining and developing Human Resource
Developing and reviewing the HR policies and procedures
Manage the recruitment process and analyze the training needs of Human Resource
Overseeing change management process
Coordinating policy monitoring and evaluation
Advising on career development of all employees within the Commission
Ensuring appropriate HR training and development programs are developed and implemented and
Putting in place an appropriate performance management system and managing performance contracts.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication that meet the requirements of chapter 6 of the Kenya Constitution.
Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or related field
A professional qualification in HR management
10 years’ experience in a HR advisory role with at least 4 years as a HR leader in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated leadership, coordination and managerial capabilities
Excellent interaction and presentation skills
Computer literacy
