ODM’s Homabay Senatorial Seat aspirants got a
rude shock this week when CORD’s Deputy Party Leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, announced
that the coalition’s affiliate parties will not issue nomination certificates
to other contestants in the forthcoming Homabay Senatorial elections.
This, he said,
was to guarantee the coalition’s chances of retaining the vacant seat which was
left behind after the death of Otieno Jakwang’.
Kalonzo Musyoka was speaking during the handing
over of the coalition’s nomination certificate to Mose Kajwang, who was
internally nominated by the party to gun for the vacant seat left by his late
brother.
This announcement dealt a huge blow to some aspirants who thought that
they could ride on the coalition’s wave in the county. This therefore means that those who defected
from ODM can now not hope for nomination to the Senatorial race via Wiper
Democratic Party or through Ford Kenya.
