Director, Finance and Administration
The
National Land Commission, a constitutional Commission established under
S. 67 of the Constitution wishes to fill the following positions.
The
Director, Finance and Administration will report to the Chief Executive
Officer and will be responsible for the finance and administration
function including advising the Commission, the Chief
Executive Officer and Management on strategic financial performance of the Commission.
Key Responsibilities:
The
successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative manager and
will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas:
finance, business planning and budgeting.
In addition to the above he/she will he/she will:
Plan for optimum utilization of resources.
Provide leadership in the formulation and implementation of financial management strategies policies and procedures.
Oversee the development and implementation of sound financial management systems
Assess business risks and create financial awareness on resource allocation, cost reduction and financial discipline
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process
Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
Work closely and transparently with all external partners, including thirdparty vendors and consultants.
Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities (transport,
Estates, Assets all over the Country) to ensure efficient and consistent
operations in the Commission
Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
A master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Economics from a recognized university plus
Must be a qualified accountant (CPA-K )
At least eight (10) years relevant experience, 5 of which with a
reputable organization and at least 4 years at senior management level.
(Experience in the public sector will be an added advantage)
Demonstrated experience using and complying with international accounting standards
Knowledge of donor contracting policies and reporting standards
Well-developed IT skills with proficiency in computerized accounting
applications and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and
knowledge of accounting and reporting software
General management skills
Excellent communication and relationship building skills with ability
to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and
external stakeholders
Personal qualities of integrity,
credibility, and dedication that meet the requirements of chapter 6 of
the Kenya Constitution.
Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Important Information to all candidates:
All

certificates form Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya
Revenue Authority (KRA), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Credit
Reference Bureau, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and the relevant
professional body(ies).
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview.
Shortlisted
Candidates shall be required to produce originals of their National
Identity Card, Academic and Professional Certificates and Testimonials.
