The fun, mind blowing, blood pumping, Adrenaline rush, that was the kind of atmosphere yesternight at Annex inside KU. It was the
Freshas night for the May First years student intake. Behind the wheels
was DJ Hassan of Homeboyz radio but something bad happened in the midst
of all the fun.
Two people lost their lives, a police officer was
beaten up by angry KU students till he lost his life and has been
pronounced dead. The cause of all this was the fact that he did not
co-operate with "Vinnie" a KU student who was the bouncer at the
Fresha's night in producing his ID, which was a requirement for everyone
to be allowed inside.
The police officer ended up shooting Vinnie and Vinnie was later pronounced dead. Two Students are in the health unit and were nearly killed by being smashed by beer bottles. Its not the first and i dont think its going to be the last time for us to hear such cases. When is sanity going to be back on our campuses? Are we going to loose more and more lives because of silly mistakes? Its worrying and I would personally prefer if the cause of all these deaths are the night events then let the relevant authorities to do away with all of them.

Take a minute ponder on what the family of Vinnie might be going through right now? Thinking you have taken your child to read only to be given the saddest news he/she is dead. If the cause of all these deaths are the night events, I would personally prefer that the relevants authorities to do away with all of them. Let Vinnie's death be the very last one, urging each and every comrade to have fun responsibly.
We might not all have known or heard of Vinnie but he was
part of us and i would now ask the KU fraternity for an overwhelming
send off for Vinnie, our fallen soldier by just taking 30 seconds and
type "RIP" in the comrade spirit...Rest in peace for these two departed
