Nairobi Kenya: Kethi Kilonzo might be the best suited candidate to win Makueni Senate seat but as rumoured that law might not be on her side. 

 

After yesterday's viral rumouR (that she's not a registered voter) which left her fans in shock although later she disapproved vendettas.  

 

Now another rumour has services from unconfirmed sources that sh'e not a registered member of Makueni County and this mighty be the last fate on her political interest since the law cannot be bend for her people who really want to vote for her badly.

Nairobi Kenya: Wiper’s Makueni Senate by-election candidate, Kethi Kilonzo, has told Capital FM News that she is a registered voter in Nairobi’s Lang’ata constituency.

Kethi’s revelation follows Wiper Democratic Movement Chairman David Musila’s confession that while Kethi is registered to vote, she is not registered to vote in Makueni County.

Musila was however quick to point out that whereas the Election Act stipulates that parliamentary contenders be registered to vote, it does not specify where they should be registered.

“I think TNA went to check the register at Makueni but the law just says you have to be a registered voter; not in a specific place,” he said on Wednesday.

“In fact she has showed me her voter’s card. I have no reason to doubt her,” Musila had told Capital FM News on Tuesday once questions emerged over Kethi’s registration status.

Who said that Kethi had withdrawn from the Makueni Senate race? Kethi never withdrew from the race. She only said that she would not be competing against her step mother. Now that her step mother has made a decision not to appear on the ballot paper, then Kethi Kilonzo is now technically is in the race and she needs not to make an announcement of her comeback.

“I had a meeting on Monday night with members of my family including my children, brothers, sisters and close friends. They have advised me that this is not the right time and I am still mourning the loss of my husband. There will be another time,” she said on Tuesday.

What is more, she will throw her full support behind her step-daughter, Kethi Kilonzo, should she decide to jump back into the race for the seat.

Residents of Makueni County have trodden and re-grouped into several cocoons, trying to digest the absurd and disturbing news that their fiery and lovely lawyer and daughter of the fallen Mutula Kilonzo; Kethi Kilonzo would not make it to the ballot box.

Interestingly, some group have resorted to social media where they are indicating that they want Kethi Kilonzo to vie and be their county Senatorial representative.

Mr Mutula Kilonzo’s daughter has finally agreed to vie for the Makueni Senate by-election.

It took long hours of talks between former Vice-President and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to convince the previously reluctant Ms Diana Kethi Kilonzo to join politics.

Efforts to get comment from party chairman David Musila or Ms Kilonzo failed as their phones went unanswered.
