Nairobi Kenya: Two
students from the University of Nairobi stole a Mercedes Benz
Kompressor from the city centre, drove it to their hostel then went out
for a meal.
The two – studying engineering and tech – did not figure out that the Sh6.5 million Mercedes Benz had a tracking device.

Campus Vibe correspondent at the university said the owner traced his Mercedes within hours and drove to the campus with police.
Before the owner showed up with the officers, the two students were having a difficult time dealing with a coterie of admirers of the luxurious car.
Our correspondent said the two thieves had asked the students to stop admiring “their car”. When the police arrived, they ambushed them but the two gave themselves up early to save the campus from an ugly incident.
They were then arrested and locked up in police cells.
A top university official who followed them to the police station could not bail them out.
