Kamba
leaders and their supporters were on Sunday urged to ignore the pre-planned
mass action by CORD and support President Uhuru Kenyatta and his government.
Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua, urged the community to instead support
Jubilee government and give it time to deliver her promise.
Speaking in Matuu
town in Yatta Sub County, the governor who was flagged by his deputy Bernard
Kiala and several MPs from Kitui, Makueni and Machakos counties called on CORD
to engage in dialogue to air their views and not mass action. ''It is too early
to engage Kenyans in an election fever while we have more than three years down
the line to deliver to the electorate'' he said.
He said those in leadership
positions should be given room to deliver their pledges without interruption so
as for the electorate to judge them after the five year term whether they have delivered
or not. He warned that the ongoing political bickering in the country was
likely to jeopardise development agenda by the Jubilee government and that
Kenyans should be wary of the situation.
