A 79 Year Old Grandmother Jumps Off An Aeroplane

What do you do after you’ve survived six strokes, beat cancer twice and suffered from osteoporosis, arthritis and diabetes? If you’re 79-year-old Carolyn Meiselbach, you go skydiving. Of course.

Meiselbach said she leaped into the upstate New York sky last month to settle some unfinished business.

“When I was young, I went through a 20-week parachute training course. But I was afraid to make the jump because there was no reserve chute,” she said.

The great-grandmother took the leap from more than 13,000 feet up despite three doctors advising against it. She sustained only one minor injury, a bruise on the chest from where her pacemaker mashed up against the parachute harness.

The jump, she said, was terrifying. The worst part was sitting on the floor of “the narrow, dinky plane which was not exactly a 747″ waiting for her turn to jump.

“I made the mistake of looking down,” she said.

But as soon as the handsome instructor pried her hands from the plane’s door and led her out into the air, she said it wasn’t so bad. She concentrated on keeping her mouth closed so she wouldn’t lose her teeth or look weird in the pictures.

Meiselbach is a 24-year resident of Carroll Gardens, one of the hippest neighborhoods in Brooklyn, N.Y. She served six years in the U.S. Navy and raised two sons as a single mom. Considering all she’s been through, she said getting pushed out of a plane was a piece of cake.

She’s planning a second jump for her 80th birthday in October. ..... Courtesy Standard Digital

Very Touching; Painful Life Story: 'Raped By My Dad 5 Years Ago .... I have Finally Accepted and Moved On'

“It happened on August 13, 2007. It was a Wednesday and I was at home in Meru with my father, a man I was very close to and whom I felt secure with.

We enjoyed each other’s company and often jogged and played chess and darts together. He was an engineer. My mother, an epidemiologist, worked for the Ministry of Health. She had travelled to Eldoret the previous day, where there was a disease outbreak.

My younger sister was in school for holiday tuition while my older brother, then a student, was at Moi University. My older sister was married. I was in Form Four at Chogoria Girls’ Secondary School and was home for the holidays.
That morning, my father had ordered the house boy to visit his family, pointing out that there was not much to be done. My father and I went about our usual daily routine and even jogged in the afternoon. We had supper at 8pm, then played chess and darts until 10pm, when he excused himself, saying that he wanted to sleep early. Shortly afterwards, I went to my room and changed into my nightdress, then continued to play darts on my laptop.
Much later, it was about 2am, I saw the doorknob turn. The door opened and my father came in, wearing only his underwear. I quickly grabbed a gown and wrapped it around myself. I threw another one at him and told him to cover himself, which he did. I thought that he had come to find out why I had not yet slept.
He sat next to me on the bed, took away my laptop, and covered my mouth with a cloth. Then he raped me. He was too strong, I could not fight back. Then he left.
I sat on my bed in disbelief. I was bleeding and in pain. I had never been intimate with anyone in any way. All I could do was cry. I did not know whom to turn to. My father had violated me. I felt betrayed. I tried to get off the bed but could hardly move. But I had to.
Eventually, I decided to find out whether he was still inside the house. In my state of mind, I figured that he was the only one who could help me since my mother was not around. On opening his bedroom door, the first thing I saw was blood on the floor, lots of it. He had stabbed himself, and next to him was a suicide note addressed to my mother. It read: “I fell in love with your daughter. I had sex with her. Darling, I don’t know how to face you”.
Ill-kept secret
In my shock and confusion, I did not inform anyone, and only waited for my mother to come home.
When she saw the suicide note, she broke into tears. When she finally composed herself, she told me to keep what had happened between the two of us. She did not want other people to know because we were, as she put it, “Christians”.
She took me to hospital, where I was admitted for two months. My mother visited me almost every day. When I learnt that I was pregnant, I almost died. I wanted to have an abortion, but my mother would hear none of it, not even when the doctors pointed out that I had the choice to terminate the pregnancy if I wanted to.
After discharge, I went back home, but I might as well have remained in hospital. My older brother and sister accused me of having an affair with my father and tried to turn my mother against me, but in spite of the turmoil she was going through, she never stopped supporting me.
I reported back to school in October, about a month late, to do my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations. My pregnancy was not obvious, so no one knew about it.
Rejection
Soon after my father’s death, my mother started to fall ill and was in and out of hospital. On the day that she died, she had gone to hospital since her blood pressure had shot up. She died at home that evening, on February 20, 2008. I was six months pregnant at the time.
When the KCSE results were announced later that month, I had scored an A, but was not happy or excited in any way. My life had come to an end when my father raped me. I felt that I had nothing to look forward to. Unfortunately, the worst was yet to come.
My older brother and sister started blaming me for the deaths of our parents. They told everyone who cared to know that I had been having an affair with my father. Eventually, I could no longer live with the ridicule, stares, and finger-pointing. I left home for Nairobi, where I got a job as a house girl in Eastleigh. My employer could see that I was pregnant but hired me anyway and offered to pay me Sh1,800 a month, which I accepted.
I would later learn that my brother sold all our parents’ property — the house, the car, and the shambas. He gave our youngest sister only Sh200,000 for her education and shared the rest with our older sister. I did not get a single cent.

I continued working until my body could take no more. When I sought refuge in my sister’s house, she threw me out. That night I slept on her doorstep, cold and hungry. Fortunately, her neighbour sympathised with me and welcomed me to stay with her for as long as I wanted.
A few days later, my custodian’s mother, Ms Mercy Kanji, visited. When she heard my story, she invited me to live with her after I gave birth. Indeed, miracles do happen.
In April 2008, I gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
They both looked like me, but I hated them so much that I did not breastfeed them for the first two months.

Each day I prayed that I would wake up and find them dead.
I only began to feel some affection for them when they were about five months old. I looked at them one day and saw them for the innocent children they were.
However, I would only breastfeed them when they cried.
Ms Kanji, a businesswoman in Namanga, employed me as her assistant. I would make photocopies, file forms and receipts, and any other job she gave me. She generously paid me Sh1,000 a day, part of which I saved. After five months, she gave me Sh30,000 to start a business.
Unfortunately, my daughter, who was born with a hole in her heart, died shortly afterwards. With Ms Kanji’s help, I buried her at Lang’ata Cemetery using part of the money she had loaned me. I invited my immediate family for the burial, but only my younger sister came. I was disappointed, but life had to go on.
Embracing the future
I decided to start selling black beans, with the money I’d saved up, and that which I’d received from Ms Kanji. I started with two sacks and six months later, I was able to buy 36 sacks from the profit I made. My guardian encouraged me to save and go to university, pointing out that I was intelligent and had a bright future ahead of me. I had been invited to study for a Bachelor of Science in Medicine at the University of Nairobi and was to report in September 2009.
My younger sister and I kept in touch, and when she completed high school in 2009, she came to Namanga to live with me at Ms Kanji’s home.
Later, in April 2009, I decided to get a place of my own in Nairobi since I was due to join university. I rented a one-room house at Moi Air Base in Eastleigh for Sh1,200 a month. I lived with my sister and son, but later employed a house help to look after my son when my sister joined Mt Kenya University to study for a Diploma in Clinical Medicine. I would not have been able to pay her school fees were it not for Ms Kanji’s help.
In September 2009, I reported at the University of Nairobi’s Medical School as a full-time student. My business was doing well and using part of my profits as well as a loan from the Higher Education Loans Board, I was able to pay my tuition fees. I employed someone to handle the business for me, but would travel to Meru town over the weekend to check on its progress.
My sister completed her diploma in 2010, around the time I met two American tourists, a mother and daughter, who were on holiday in Kenya. The three of us had visited the Joy Centre Children’s Home in Kayole. We got talking and on a whim, I shared my story with them.
My experience must have touched them because they offered my sister a scholarship to study for a Bachelor of Science in Medicine at Michigan Medical School. My sister travelled to the US in April 2012.
Unfortunately, Ms Kanji passed away in July that year. A piece of me died with her because she had been like a second mother to me. In her will, she left me one of her lorries, which has been a great boost to my cereals business — even in death, she is still looking out for me.
This year, death snatched away someone else dear to me; my younger sister, who had such a bight future ahead of her.
She died on April 5 in the US, where, as I mentioned, she’d gone to study. She had been admitted to hospital with high blood pressure — tests revealed blood clots in her brain, but even after two operations, she did not survive.

When I informed my immediate family about her death, they blamed me, pointing out that I was the one who had taken her to a foreign country. I travelled to the US on April 10, thanks to help from friends, and buried my sister in a paid-for public plot. I was unable to raise money to bring her body back home, something that pains me to this day.
I’m all he has
I have tried everything possible to reconcile with my immediate family, but none of them wants anything to do with me. It hurts terribly, but I have been through worse and I get stronger with each passing day.
It has not been easy, though. I once tried to commit suicide, but a friend who happened to visit that day stopped me from drinking the pesticide I had bought. He pointed out that if I took my life, my son would be left with no one.
I realised that this was true. He has no father, no grandfather, no grandmother, and the remaining relatives want nothing to do with him.
This is when I realised that I love my son. He does not know anything, and is not to blame for what happened. He only knows that I am “Mum” and that I am the only person he has. For this reason, I have decided to remain strong, to never break. I will rise above it all.
I am in my fourth year at University, and in two year’s time, I will be a doctor, an accomplishment that gives me great pride.
I am also in a relationship with someone I have known for a long time. It has taken me a long time to get to this point, but I know I cannot continue living in the shadow of what happened. I want to be happy, I need to be happy. I, too, want a husband and more children. I need to continue living regardless of what happened.
My son is now five years old. I know that one day he will want to know who his father is and why he does not have uncles and aunts, like other children. How do you tell your child that although he is your son, he is also your brother?
This is a bridge that I will have to cross when I get to it..... Courtesy of Daily Nation

Schoking: Man Sets Up Camera To Catch Ghosts Only To Catch His Wife Having S*X With His 16 Year Old Son

A man who set up a video camera to film ghosts in his home had the fright of his life - when he busted his live-in girlfriend having sex with his 16-year-old son.

Footage he hoped would reveal signs of paranormal activity in his Tasmania, Australia, house instead showed his two loved ones kissing and then having intercourse.

He confronted his 28-year-old lover - who'd lived with him for 11 years and is the mother of his young child - but she played down the October 2012 incident.

However, his son confessed to having sex with her three times in the preceding days.

And in the following weeks, it emerged they went on to have sex several times in a hotel room.
The man called cops. Officers questioned his partner, who admitted to having sex with the boy and knowing he was 16.

She claimed to think the age of consent was 16, when it is actually 17, and said she was "ashamed and embarrassed" by her conduct.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to underage sex at the state's Supreme Court on Monday.

The Hobart Mercury reports she will be sentenced next week. .....Courtesy of Daily News

Shocking: Woman Discovers That Her Client Is Her Co-Wife

Residents of Shinyalu, Kakamega County, were recently entertained to a circus when a salonist discovered that her favourite client was dating her hubby on Facebook.

The famous salonist discovered her husband’s little secret when making the client’s hair. Out to kill boredom, the client whiled away time as her hair was being done by chatting with her lover on Facebook.

Romantic

Oblivious of what she could later get herself into, she innocently showed off to the salonist some of the creatively written romantic messages they were sending back and forth to each other.

The client also bragged about their night outs and a recent outing across the borders. This was in reference to some good time the lovebirds recently had in Uganda.

That revelation immediately reminded the salonist an occasion on which her husband lied to her that he was making an official trip to Uganda and would be away from home for a while.

Like a woman in labour pain, the salonist let out a loud scream. Shocked by the salonist’s strange action, the client dropped her phone. It is then that the nervous salonist picked her client’s phone to confirm if indeed it was her husband her client had been chatting with.

To her amazement, she confirmed the man her client was chatting with, was indeed her husband.
hairdo

“Have I been making you look beautiful so that you can go out with my hubby?” the angry woman asked her friend who pretended not to understand what was happening.

The salonist decided to teach the woman a lesson by messing up her hairdo and cut off her hair. The client could not take it anymore of course and retaliated.

They went after each other in a fierce scuffle that, within minutes, attracted a huge crowd.   After a series of blows and tearing each other’s clothes, the client confessed that she was the man’s sidekick and that the man had promised to marry her.

The salonist swore to teach her husband a lesson and advised his lover to be ready for trouble as well. The crowd that had gathered to witness the scandal made it worse by egging on the salonist to take stern action against her unfaithful client.

Some advised the salonist to report the issue to the police while others thought it could be wise for her to visit a witchdoctor.

In the confusion, her embattled client took a ‘walk of shame’ and disappeared from the scene.

Julie Gichuru: My Life, My Story - Truely Inspirational Read

Julie Gichuru
I secured my first job just a few months out of high school. I had some time before I was due at university and I heard that the International Committee of the Red Cross was hiring clerks for a big project.

I offered my services as a volunteer and after stubbornly sitting at their reception on Dennis Pritt Road in Nairobi every morning for weeks, I finally got a position.

We started our work, opening files, attaching photos to cards and logging in details. As the days went by, the importance of what we were doing dawned on me.
Our focus was Sudan where a large number of children, boys to be precise, were making a trek into Kenya. We had a picture of each child taken at a camp within Sudan. We had details of their names, ages, height, description and some family information.

After a few days we would receive information that we had to log in. This information was registration data from a stop over point closer to Kenya. But some of the boys were not on the registration list. We would separate those files, close them and hand them to a different office.

Eventually I asked what happened to the boys who had not registered.

“They did not make it.” I was told.
 They did not make it…
Each file I closed was a life lost…. They did not make it…

I asked why these boys were walking all by themselves, so young, too weak to carry supplies, at the mercy of the animals and the harsh environment, with only each other to hold onto. “It is the only way we can get them into Kenya and getting them into Kenya is their best chance of survival.”

I was horrified. Upset. Angry. I wished I had money to send trucks to pick them up… ‘Why can’t we do more?’ I lamented internally. But all I could do was wait expectantly for the next report.

I shed tears for the boys who did not make it.
I shed tears that they all had to endure such suffering.
I shed tears for the girls did not even stand a chance.
I shed tears for the families that were torn apart.
I shed tears that this was my Africa.

That was my first job. It was the early nineties and those were the Lost Boys of Sudan. While media reports indicate that the boys were between 7 to 17 years old, I recall that there were toddlers who made that journey.

Many were young, many were just babies, protected and cared for by the older boys. I recall some of the older boys lost their lives fighting off wild animals that would trail behind them, hoping to feed on the weak and tired boys who fell back. What sheer strength and character!

It breaks my heart that they suffered…

I wonder where some of those boys are today. They are heroes, all of them. At such a tender age facing the choice of that arduous trek or imminent death.
May they all be blessed abundantly, may their cups spilleth over for their burden was too great, and they were far too young.

We owe them a better Africa, we owe ourselves a better Africa. I pray that we get there.

At a personal level I realized that we all face a great arduous trek in life, but for some of us it is more severe than it is for others. For some of us it comes when we are young, for others the worst hits us later.

How we conduct ourselves through the great trek will determine much of our life to come.

The question is can we make it through the trek with our dignity intact? Can we make it through the great trek with grace, courage and love?

For if we are driven by hate and destruction, selfishness and cowardice, the trek will destroy us even as the journey begins.

Mother defends spending more than £20,000 on her eight year old's designer wardrobe

Courtesy of Daily Mail

A fashion-conscious mother has admitted she can't resist dressing her son up 'like a doll' and has spent more than £20,000 kitting him out in designer labels.

Model Vicky Antonia, 31, has dressed son, Zak, eight, exclusively in high end brands since he was born, including Armani, D&G, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Prada.

He also has two rooms full of toys to entertain him and friends at their home in Epping, Essex.

Vicky Antonia, 31, has dressed her son in high end brands since his birth
She once spent £1,000 a week on him
The eight-year-old has 200 pairs of designer shoes

Vicky said: 'I know it must sound like I am spoiling him, but I just want him to look his best, what is wrong with making your son look good?

'I just didn't know that there was any other way. I didn't think to get him clothes from anywhere else.'

Vicky admitted she finds it hard to curb her spending - splashing out on the same designer shoes in different sizes so Zak can wear them as he grows and buying the same T-shirt in different colours if she can't decide on one shade.

She said: 'I would buy him different sizes in the same shoe if I really liked it so that when he grew out of one pair he could just put on the newer one.
'If there was a T-shirt I wanted and I didn't know what colour to get then I would just buy it in every colour.'
She has also paid out £10,000 on designer jeans and T-shirts plus £5,000 on accessories - including a £100 Christian Dior baby bottle.
Zak has more than 200 pairs of designer shoes, including a £200 pair of limited edition Evisu trainers, and even his swimming trunks are Armani.
Vicky funds her big spending through her work as a model and from Zak's father - who she is no longer in a relationship with.

'Smallest Penis Contest' In Brooklyn: New York Bar To Honor The Small Things

Life, they say, is about learning to appreciate the small things.
For proof, look no further than the first-ever "Smallest Penis Contest" at King's County Bar in Brooklyn, New York, on July 20.
According to a Craigslist ad seeking "less endowed men" to prove that "good things can come in small packages," the contest will be "pageant style" and involve "talent, evening wear, and swimsuit elements."
And this won't be just another pissing contest, either. As the Village Voice notes, winners will be selected by a "small member expert panel."
Entrants must be 21 or older and must be present the day of the contest (no photos or remote entries), the ad states. They also "should be comfortable getting hosed down while wearing only skimpy underwear."
Competitors scheming to get ahead with a Borat-style man thong (or worse), take note: Promoters will level the playing field by handing out standard-issue undies for all contestants to wear.
According to Gothamist, the victor will receive a crown, the dubious title of "2013 Smallest Penis in Brooklyn" and a cash prize, which -- should the winner choose -- can be donated to charity.
Presumably there will be no large trophies.
The Huffington Post reached out the bar for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
A similar contest, held online by a Danish erotica website, hopes to raise awareness of what it says should not be a sensitive subject.
"It's incredible how the media has frightened people from showing themselves as they are," Morten Fabricius, the website's owner, told the Agence France-Presse.

The Funniest Joke Ever On Churchil Show

There were four second year students at the University of Nairobi  taking Organic Chemistry. They were doing so well on all the quizzes, midterms and labs, etc., that each had an "A" so far for the semester.
These four friends were so confident that the weekend before finals, they decided to Kenyatta University and party with some friends there. They had a great time, but after all the hearty partying, they slept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Nairobi until early Monday morning.

Rather than taking the final then, they decided to find their professor after the final and explain to him why they missed it. They explained that they had gone to KU for the weekend with the plan to come back in time to study, but, unfortunately, they had a flat tire on the way back, didn't have a spare, and couldn't get help for a long time. As a result, they missed the final.

The professor thought it over and then agreed they could make up the final the following day. The guys were elated and relieved. They studied that night and went in the next day at the time the professor had told them. He placed them in separate rooms and handed each of them a test booklet, and told them to begin.

They looked at the first problem, worth five points. It was something simple about free radical formation. "Cool," they thought at the same time, each one in his separate room, "this is going to be easy." Each finished the problem and then turned the page.

On the second page was written: (For 95 points): Which tire?

The Hottest Nairobi Strip Clubs - Where VIP Is Really VIP

Courtesy Of Kenya Daily Express

APPLE BEEZ

Located along Gaborone road, this is the pioneer of stripping business in town. They literally set the trend in the industry. With strippers from as far as Brazil and USA, they are obviously serious about what they do.The joint is always crowded, but i would recommend Thursdays Kamasutra night. it is usually not as crowded hence the strippers give guys special attention.

LIDDOS

Located along keekoroke road, this is the one joint edging out Apple beez as the ultimate Nairobi’s top strip club. The music is so loud here, that you have to shout to order a drink. Its not as dark as Apple beez, but it isn’t that bright either. Beers retail at 250 bob and they even give you ETR receipts after purchase. a well managed club this is.

From 11pm, porn plays in the 42” plasma TV’s. If that doesn’t put you in the mood, nothing can. Alcohol with the background of loud music, porn on the screens as strippers defy the laws of gravity causes such an adrenaline rush. Not a good idea for premature ejaculators though. After Midnight, strippers chuck all manner of dressing and the show begins.

F3 PANGO

A sister club to the renowned Florida pack of night clubs, its located along Moi Avenue in the same building that Florida 2000 is located. Actually you use the same entrance to F2.After 11pm, the music is usually very loud. with jungus and hindu guys preferring this club. This is definitely a high end joint, Sudanese are also spotted making it rain here.it is a sight to behold watching the strippers work those golden poles.

TAHITI CLUB

Another club located along river road. Its a relatively small club with the balcony serving as the VIP section. The music is loud, so loud that you can almost see you beer bottle moving around the table. The DJ is a cunt though. you might think that you are chilling somewhere in Kampala when he decides to go Ham on Ugandan songs.. The strippers are gorgeous [well at least a majority] At around 11pm, the strippers work the poles with bikinis and bras and as time goes, lose everything.

- SMALL WORLD STRIP CLUB

This joint should not even feature in the list. Its Quite popular though and hence i have to make a review about it. Located on a lane just off river road and on the 5th floor of an old building that has no lifts, this is a place you will certainly not visit twice. The first thing that you notice after entering the club is this huge hall with terrible lighting. The joint looks like a church hall, only that there are counters and stripping poles. The VIP section is also a shitty area, but when you are paying 1 sok to enter, you can’t complain.

So there you have it..
