Nicholas Bett Being Burried Today

The late ex-world champion Nicholas Bett, who died in a grisly road accident in Nandi , Rift Valley, is being laid to rest today, Thursday 16^th August 2018. 

In attendance in paying Bett the last respects are Kenya's Deputy President, Hon. William Ruto, and a host of other government officials and dignitaries.

Bett flew the Kenyan flag high, becoming the first Kenyan to win gold medal in a 400M hurdles race at a world stage.

One Hidden Secret of the Handshake

Until now, many people continue to speculate about the details of the handshake deal between H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga. Weirdly, no one can tell the actual contents of the deal, except the two.

Every time the question on what’s in the deal pops up, the immediate reference is directed towards the building bridges initiative committee, whose terms of reference isn’t yet clearly known to the public.

But many can now attest that there is true calm in the country as a result of the famous handshake. Equally, there is a new zeal to tackle both impunity and corruption, a true legacy that President Kenyatta will most definitely be remembered for, in his last term in the office.

One secret of the handshake lies in the 2022 elections. Raila will present himself, again, for another fight at the Presidency. But will he receive the support of the President?

Having been re-elected by a landslide of more than 76% of total votes cast, Russia's President Vladimir Putin got another nod to became the country's President for a fourth term, on a six year term.

Notably, Putin faced no strong challenger in the polls, with the country's main opposition challenger Alexei  Navalny barred from contesting. This prompted the European observers to note that although the polls were efficiently conducted, there was deficit of genuine choice for the voters.

While congratulating Putin, Trump went on record stating that  "the arms race between the US and Russia is getting out of control... but we will never allow anybody to have anything close to what we have".

Trump further stated that he hope meeting Putin in the so distant future to discuss among other things, the arms race issue.

The Future Of Bitcoin And Other Cryptocurrencies

Many people believe that it's just a matter of time before the cryptocurrency bubble burst. Some insinuate that the cryptos are highly over-valued, and that many who've channeled their hard-earned money investing in the coins will most definitely reap negative returns, in the already near future.

Truth is, there is lack of adequate information surrounding the value/prices of cryptocurrencies, making it difficult to make a solid investment-related decision when investing in the coins. And another sad truth is, no one knows the exact/true value of the coins, making crypto-related investment a gamble.

But are these sufficient to justify death of cryptos in the near future?

The most definite answer is a NO.

The cryptos have already pointed the direction the world digital currency should take, and are here for the long haul. They are going no where.

Cryptocurrencies will only crash the moment they became worthless, but are they?  Given the increased world governments' interest in taxing, regulating, and legalizing the cryptos, it shows that there is a deeper interest to adopt the cryptos as digital currency - a perfect alternative to fiat currency.

Breaking News - Fatal Accident At Salama

Four people have died on the spot while others  severely injured as a driver of a public service vehicle from Mombasa to Nairobi rammed into a stationary lorry at Salama - which is a long the Mombasa Nairobi highway.

The Kenyan Red cross and other emergency services providers arrived immediately at the scene and had been pivotal in helping take the injured to nearby hospitals.

An arrest warrant has been issued against the current Kisumu Senator Fred Outa And Former Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga for failing to appear in court over a case linking them to attack of IEBC  officials. 

Rest In Peace Margaret Wambui - Uhuru Kenyatta's Eldest Sister

The first family is in mourning following the death of President Uhuru Kenyatta's eldest sister Margaret Wambui.

Wambui was the eldest of two children of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and his first wife Nyokabi.

She died in a Nairobi hospital after a short illness , and was aged 89 years. She had no child and was never married at the time of her death.

She is in records as the first African woman mayor of Nairobi. She was the deputy mayor of Nairobi in the year 1966, and rose to Mayorship in the year 1971.

Every political pundit acknowledges that it will never be a walk in the park for the opposition to get the current government out of power. 

If you've ever followed Kenyan politics closely, one fact is now evident; the opposition will remain as strong as they continue to lack a presidential candidate! Well, this may sound stranger than fiction, but it's a fact.

The longer the opposition can stay whilst figuring who their flag bearer will be, the stronger they will remain. And if they can come up with a system where all the principals are treated as equals before and after elections, then they will definately give the new Jubilee outfit a good run for their money.  

And for the opposition to win the next elections, they must learn from Matiangi , and do things differently. It should never matter who carries their flag, as long as they remain united to a common course.

But the sad truth is, wasipojipanga, watazidi kupangwa.
