President Uhuru Is Top earner In New Pay Structure

A new salary structure has placed the President as the highest paid government official in Kenya while Resident Magistrates, Kadhis and Members of County Assembly have been ranked as the lowest-paid state officers.

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) with the assistance of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) — which conducted a job evaluation for all State offices — has created 112 state offices, up from the current 50.

He planned to surprise his wife with a car to celebrate Valentine’s Day. But both died in an accident on Wednesday morning, cutting short a union that relatives described as blissful.

Mr Alex Mbijjiwe, 35, had arrived back home early this week from Congo, where he works as an engineer, with big plans for yesterday’s lovers’ day.

According to his relatives, the father of three had planned to surprise his wife, Mrs Gakii Mbijjiwe, with a car as a Valentine’s gift.

Matungulu Member of Parliament Stephen Mule has lost his seat after the High Court in Machakos ruled there was poll irregularities during the March 4 elections.

High Court Judge Lilian Mutende in her ruling said Mr Mule, who contested the Matungulu parliamentary seat on a Wiper Democratic Movement ticket, was not validly elected as MP.

Four petitioners who were losers in the polls Thomas Malinda Musau, Stephen Ndambuki Muli, John Makenzi and a former MP Moffat Maithya filed a petition against Mr Mule soon after the polls.
