Southamptom Offers Shs1.3Billion to Celtic for Signing of Victor Wanyama

Southampton have agreed a Sh 1.3 billion (£10million) fee with Celtic for Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama but the player says he is yet to agree personal terms with the English club which will make him the first Kenyan to play in the English Premier League.

Wanyama, who is on holiday until July 10, says he has not been contacted by Southampton but alluded to the fact that the club has severally tried to get his signature.

“I am on holiday, I am only hearing this from the media but I can say the deal is far from being complete. Yes, my club has agreed terms with Southampton, but I will also have to agree to terms before I consider myself a Saint,” said Wanyama who was recently installed as captain of Kenya national football team.

According to a report on British newspaper Daily Mail, Southampton made a bid that Scottish side has accepted and what remains is for the player to agree terms and move to the lucrative English Premier League.

Kenyan Boy Jailed For Three Years for Calling Dad 'Gwi' .... Meaning a Dog

Muranga, Kenya: A man who pleaded guilty to a charge of calling his grandfather a dog and shouting in his compound has been jailed for 3 years.

Kelvin Kimani, 18, admitted before senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku that on June 1 at Kiunyu in Gatanga, Murang’a county he called John Chege a dog and made noise in his compound.

The Ksh 9Billion Youth Funds To Be Released This July

Nairobi, Kenya: The Youth Enterprise Development Fund will start disbursing the Sh6 billion budgetary allocation to groups across the country next month.

The money will be released directly to 250,000 youth groups to engage in small scale businesses, according to chairman Gor Semelang’o.

The amount to be loaned to the groups would go up from Sh50,000 to Sh400,000 for the youths to have better capital for small micro enterprises, said Mr Semelang’o said Thursday.

“We plan to start disbursing the Sh6 billion which the national government allocated for youth empowerment from next month,” he said at Bandari College in Mombasa.
