Greece Declines To Clear Kenya Airways Flight
Nairobi Kenya: Passengers aboard Kenya Airways flight that was diverted to Athens
following a fire warning are still stranded after Greece Civil Aviation
declined to clear plane to leave.
In a statement issued on Monday, KQ said that the flight was
scheduled to depart on Sunday at 9pm but was cancelled at the last

Two Uon STUDENTS steal sleek Mercedes Benz from CBD
Nairobi Kenya: Two
students from the University of Nairobi stole a Mercedes Benz
Kompressor from the city centre, drove it to their hostel then went out
for a meal.
The two – studying engineering and tech – did not figure out that the Sh6.5 million Mercedes Benz had a tracking device.

School girls DROP OUT OF KENYAN SCHOOL after getting impregnated by their teachers
Homabay County: – A row is simmering between parents and teachers of the
Owich primary school in Lambwe division, Mbita district, in Kenya’s Homa
Bay county, over escalating cases of schoolgirls dropping out of the
school after allegedly getting impregnated by some amorous teachers.
The situation is so bad that parents have petitioned the government
to intervene and deal with the teachers who are cutting the education of
their daughters short.
The Homa Bay county is located in Nyanza province, some 396 kilometers from Nairobi- Kenya’s capital city.

The High Court on Friday ruled that Ruto has failed to provide evidence that he purchased the land belonging to Eldoret farmer Adrian Muteshi.
The court has also ordered the deputy president to pay Muteshi Sh5 million for trespassing on his land and denying him use since 2008.
I conclusively find that Muteshi is the owner of the land,” Rose Ougo said in her ruling.
“The evidence before me it’s clear that there were fraudulently activities in the manner the land was subdivided and sold.”

The gates complex on the outskirts of
Milan, Via Olgettina, is one of the most sought after estates in the
city and according to prosecutors they lived there rent free in return

Nairobi Kenya: Wiper’s Makueni Senate by-election candidate, Kethi Kilonzo, has
told Capital FM News that she is a registered voter in Nairobi’s
Lang’ata constituency.
Kethi’s revelation follows Wiper Democratic Movement
Chairman David Musila’s confession that while Kethi is registered to
vote, she is not registered to vote in Makueni County.
Musila was however quick to point out that whereas the Election Act
stipulates that parliamentary contenders be registered to vote, it does
not specify where they should be registered.
“I think TNA went to check the register at Makueni but the law just
says you have to be a registered voter; not in a specific place,” he
said on Wednesday.
“In fact she has showed me her voter’s card. I have no reason to
doubt her,” Musila had told Capital FM News on Tuesday once questions
emerged over Kethi’s registration status.

Mr Odinga told the Nation the thugs
appeared to have used master keys to gain entry to the Raila Odinga
Centre in Upper Hill as there was no evidence of forced entry.

South Africa: The family of critically ill anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela
gathered around his hospital bedside on Monday as millions in South
Africa and across the world feared for the worst.
“Former president Mandela remains in a critical
condition in hospital,” South African President Jacob Zuma said in an
address televised to the world and an anxious nation.
“The doctors are doing everything possible to ensure his well being and comfort.”
Mandela, the hero of black South Africans’ battle for freedom during
27 years in apartheid jails, was rushed to hospital on June 8 with a
recurring lung infection.
Kenya National Union Of Teachers (KNUT) Declares 'Father' of All Kenyan Strikes
Teachers in public schools were set to go on strike from
midnight on Monday, as their top organ declared a nationwide work
boycott over unpaid allowances.
Describing it as ‘the father of all strikes’, Kenya
National Union of Teachers Chairman (KNUT) Wilson Sossion said they
would not go back to class until a Collective Bargain Agreement signed
in 1997 was implemented to cover medical, commuter and housing
allowances.
He accused the government of having misplaced priorities by according
the ‘free’ laptop project more funds which were unnecessary.
“This National Executive Council has hereby resolved that the
nationwide strike of teachers commence. Will as many as are of this
opinion say Aye; and will as many as are of the contrary opinion say
Nay… the Ayes have it!” he declared.
KNUT Secretary General Xavier Nyamu urged teachers in public schools
to start handing over their duties to their respective head teachers
from Monday afternoon.
